West GYSTC Teacher of the YearEach member school nominates a teacher that has at least three years of experience in science or math in grades k-8. This teacher should incorporate innovative science/math teaching methods in their classroom and have an positive impact on their school or system such as organizing STEM Nights, planning science fairs, writing grants for science/math or serving as department chair, etc. This teacher should also have recognition of science/math achievement, awards, community recognition/publicity, student achievement, and or student participation in competitions such as science fair, math team, Science Olympiad, Robotics teams, etc.
