Science and Literacy

Teaching Science Through Children's Literature

Literacy is important to all K-8 teachers. The Common Core calls for literacy in the content areas including science. Reading and writing about science are skills that all scientists use in their work. West GYSTC is pleased to offer science & literacy professional learning using a variety of NSTA Press resources. Special guests presenters have included NSTA Press authors such as Dr. Christine Royce (Teaching Science Through Trade Books) and Dr. Jodi Wheeler-Toppen (Science the Write Way, Once Upon a Life Science Book).
