​West GYSTC’s fossil pit has been a site for digging up shark’s teeth and other fossils for many years. Sometimes the coordinator brings fossils to classrooms, and other times students come to UWG to visit the fossil pit. The contents of the dig area came from a mine in middle Georgia. Fossils are also featured in Saturday Science programs or as part of a Family STEM Night.
